A Quick Look Back at DSS 2026: Women's Power By Design

This year’s Summit was our largest yet, bringing together 63 women speakers and moderators for three days of powerful conversations exploring Where We’ve Been, Where We Are, and Where We’re Going.
If you joined us, thank you. It was an incredible few days, and we are still feeling the energy and inspiration from those conversations.
If you want to dive deeper into the conversations and key takeaways, we encourage you to check out this recent feature in Ms. Magazine, which beautifully captures the spirit and impact of this year’s event.
And if you missed a session or want to revisit a conversation, you can now rewatch all sessions on our YouTube channel. Simply click on any of the days below to start watching!
We also know that a lot was shared over those three days, including numerous links, tools, and resources. To make it easy to revisit everything, we’ve compiled it all into one place. You can access the full resource guide below.
And if you’re interested in learning more about the women experts we collaborate with, or would like to be included yourself, we encourage you to explore our Women Experts in Democracy Directory.
This growing resource highlights leaders, researchers, and advocates working across the democracy space and helps connect media, organizations, and partners with diverse voices and expertise.
Why is this Summit important?
Our fifth annual Democracy Solutions Summit was a record-breaking success and a defining moment for RepresentWomen’s work this year.
We brought together 63 women speakers and moderators — the largest group in the Summit’s history — and welcomed over 400 registrants across each of the three days of conversations, focused on how we design a democracy that truly reflects the people it serves.
What made this year especially powerful was not only the scale, but the depth and diversity of voices in the room. Our speakers represented a wide range of lived experiences, areas of expertise, and perspectives across the democracy reform space, with approximately 50 percent women of color and representation spanning across generations — from emerging young leaders in Generation Alpha to long-standing movement builders from the Silent Generation.
Across three days — Where We’ve Been, Where We Are, and Where We’re Going — one message came through clearly: progress toward women’s representation is built through intentional systems design and sustained collective effort.
